community impact/involvement

Our church grew out of the dream of sparking a movement of believers to engage and restore our community together.

A couple of our recent community projects include:

Teacher Appreciation Dinner at Gentilly Terrace Charter School

On the evening of Monday, September 10th, our body served a yummy dinner from local restaurant Munch Factory to the faculty and staff of Gentilly Terrace Charter School. This is one of a number of projects we have done for the school where our church meets on Sunday mornings.

Hurricane Isaac Recovery

In the days immediately following the storm, members of our body were able to connect with different families and meet immediate physical needs. Some of the work we were able to do included cutting up downed trees, emptying powerless refrigerators and even reroofing a portion of a roof.

A couple upcoming projects include:

Monthly Community Movie Nights

We host a Community Movie Night on the first Friday evening of every month at the St. James Playspot in Gentilly. We are always looking for extra hands to help us setup, facilitate the Imagination Playground playtime and connect relationally with our neighbors.

Gentilly Fest

Our community’s annual Gentilly Fest is coming up the weekend of Oct 5-7. We are excited to once again bring our Imagination Playground to the Kid’s Village.
